    Hi,

I have an Vaio Fit 14 inch model with windows 8.1 installed which recently (a couple of weeks ago) has begun to act strange. The problem is that no matter what I try disabling, it will at certain times wake up from sleep mode and search for updates. This is of course a problem as 1) the laptop has its air intakes (or exhausts?) right above the keyboard, so when my laptop is in my backpack or something and suddenly wakes from sleep, I'm afraid that components will be fried, and 2) it's a massive PITA to have a laptop which you think has a fully charged battery and suddenly when you want to use it it's completely dead.

Are there any settings I haven't checked? I'm used to pure installations of Windows and there seems to be some settings missing on the Vaio products. I'm thinking about just installing a Win 7 copy I have available (this would get rid of all the Vaio bloatware/restrictions, right?). If so, will the touchpad functions (like two fingers to scroll, three finger to go back and forth) work even if I install a pure Win 7?
