I've just purchased one, and haven't been able to find a solution to the excessively low volume. Has anyone got any alternative solutions (not using Loudness Equalization), or another set of drivers which work, any registry tweaks, etc, that would increase the sound output from this? This is the only thing which annoys me about this otherwise great laptop.

On the Fz190 there is no other tweak for boosting the levels so I suspcet that is true of the FZ2 series as well. One thing you might try is to use WinAmp which has a "preamp" option which gives a bit of extra gain.

Thanks for your replies. I've tried the Winamp preamp but it just kinda limits the volume, as though the soundcard is trying to keep the max output under a certain limit. If you understand what I'm saying. Yes I would use headphones but that is not always an option, sometimes you need to use the speakers.
Hopeflly someone knows a way to achieve this...

I found that the Sonicstage Mastering Studio Audio Filter has tons of filters and plugins that you can use to adjust the sound output for particular applications.
