I have a Vaio PCG-GRX600 and bought 1GB or RAM from Crucial (2 x 512MB chips) to replace the 2 x 256MB I currently had). According to what I've been told and read this laptop supports 1GB RAM.

I installed it no problem but when I go to system properties it only shows 512MB RAM. Both chips seem to work fine, what am I doing wrong?

Try checking with CPU-Z, Under SPD Tab, check on both slot that it recognize installed RAM correctly. If some slot is missing, I think you should try swapping the memory between slot.
