Hello all,
My laptop is Sony Vaio FW47GY, which is Full HD 1080. The operation system is windows 7 64bit professional.
I just got a ASUS 23'' monitor with HDMI input. When I connect them by hdmi cable. The screen displayed in extended monitor was not full screen. There are black margin around monitor. I use the 1920 X 1080 resolution.
And then I try to reduce the resolution to 1600 X 1200. It works and full screen layout. I borrowed my workmate laptop and connect to my monitor by hdmi cable. It works too. So that means it is not the monitor setting problem. It should be my Vaio HDMI output.
And then I try to connect my Vaio laptop with monitor by VGA cable. It works too.
Now I narrow down the problem to the "my vaio hdmi output limitation". And I could not find any setting in my computer.
Does anybody has this problem before and how to fix it.
Thanks

I had/have a similar problem with my CW27FX. You have to close the lid of the laptop or else it outputs a "scaled" version of the resolution through HDMI. Also make sure you have Sony Vaio Control Center installed.
Unfortunately, once I close the lid, I have massive problems with wifi speeds.
Thanks,
GR
