My PCG Z600LEK CEK Vaio needs a new hard drive, currently it's running with a 15GB one but they are hard to get hold of. 20GB is easy but would the machine be able to cope with a 40GB one and anything I need to look out for when buying a new HD that is specific to this model? Cheers.

Not sure on that, that's why I'm here. If you've found an answer, let me know. I've got an old Toshiba Satellite from work that busted, but it had a 40gb hdd in it that I wanted to put in my PCG-F590 Vaio that currently has a 16gb drive in it. Unfortunately, I don't know how to get at the hdd in the Vaio and randomly unscrewing things scares me.

Hopefully I'll find a thread with this info in it!

EDIT: In case you find one you like, this thread may help you install it. Not sure if the models are compatible: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=66665
