I am not sure if this happens to every other country but right now I am in Indonesia. I keep moving around different Asian countries and have no idea when i will have to move to next place. I learned from Malaysian sony service that there is something called ISRP and i can register online. My confusions and troubles begins there.
-Malaysian sony service says i can get ISRP in Indonesia but Indonesian sony says i only get local warranty. they have never heard of ISRP in Indonesia even though sony site mentions Indonesia.
-Both msia and indonesia says indonesian sony doesnt provide any IRSP support inside indonesia.
- Sony website says i need vista and windows 7 to register for IRSP which is just plain stupid since most lappies hv been shipping with windows 7 for almost 2 years by now.
I still havent found a single service guy who could explain this to me. Trouble is that no one here heard of ISRP.
Is this normal?? Can anyone help me understand how this works? If i buy a vaio from one country even if the country doesnt provide any international warranty and I register the product online, then can i claim repairs in another country where this ISRP is supported?? or do i need to give up on my plans to buy the new SB?
thanks guys

I think if you check inside your registration pack it list the countries covered by the ISRP and also states that the list of countries covered can be changed without notice. That's what I received inside my EB box.
And make sure you register before and have a recovery media set on you as Sony's model can be localised and having a set of recovery disk avoid delays from ordering them
