I just want to check that the new VPC L2 series computers support Sata III. Of course Sony's website doesn't mention anything. How do I know for sure if it has it or not?

Can we really be certain that every Sandy Bridge computer is equipped with it?

Just want to double check before taking the plunge on a Sata 3 vs. Sata 2 SSD.

I have the same question too. Can anyone verify?

All i know is that the current hard disk is SATA II.

Is there any way to check from within the computer itself, like in the OS or something to look for on the connector?

Thanks for the link to the UK site. It does give more specs but it's still vague on the HDD.

I'm thinking of calling Sony but I have a feeling it'll just be a big waste of time.

This is what it saids in SiSoftware Sandra:

Model: Sony Cougar Point 6 port SATA AHCI Controller
OEM Device name: Intel Cougar Point 6 port SATA AHCI Controller
    Interface: SATA
    Revision: A5
    Specification: 1.10
    Maximum SATA Mode: G3/SATA600
    Channels: 2
    In Use Channels: 2
    Port: G2/SATA300

Does it mean it will only support SATA II? Because the 'Port' is SATA300...

I am no expert but I believe it is Sata 3.0. Your Sisoft Sandra output indicates a maximum SATA mode of G3/SATA600. You also indicated that your current hard drive is SATA 2.0 which would explain why the port reads G2/SATA300.
