First off I just want to say that this is possible. I have my Nr110e clean installed with Vista Home Premium OEM all drivers and buttons are working. I will post the drivers if I can find a place to host them. The secret is to have the laptop restored with the image and extract the drivers and programs you want from there. The sony restore cd's are protected with a special file type but what they seemed to overlook is that when you instal a program it copies the install files to the hard drive. I used this method to get all the drivers and even the pre-activated version of roxio and win DVD that came with the laptop. Heres the steps to follow

1 - Have the laptop restored with the sony garbage
2 - Copy the drivers folder in the windows folder. (This is most of the drivers.)
3 - Load any programs from the restore cd but do not complete the final install step or reboot
4 - In control pannel unhide hidden files and folders
5 - Go to Users (Your User Name) AppData Roaming

If you search search around in here you will find more of the sony drivers and programs.

Read the guide all the way before starting.

To delete the sony restore partition
    Boot off the sony CD
    go to commad prompt
type these commands followed by the enter key
    diskpart
    select disk 0
detail disk (lists the volumes on the disk)
select volume (# Enter the number of the volume listed as hidden)
    delete volume override
    exit
    exit
    and reboot

That will delete the hidden EISA partition

Here is a list of the needed drivers for all buttons to work. There is a proper order to install but I cannot remember without restoring again. I will list them to the best of my knowledge

Start in the EXE folder and install these first
    Start with the Chipset Driver
Then install all the rest of the drivers

**DO NOT INSTALL THE MEMORY CARD PATCH YET**

In the INF folder install these next
The install files are the DPinst32.exe if setup.exe is not there

After the Memory Card Reader is installed go to the EXE folder and install the patch.

The final driver to install is the SFEP driver. (I cannot remember but other software might need to be loaded before this will install)

The drivers that need to be found and installed I will list here in what I think is the correct order.

Get the correct versions from the .dll files on the factory restore or use my drivers which I hope I can find somewhere to post. (PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME MESSAGES ASKING FOR DRIVERS. THANK YOU)

    Sony Shared Library v4.0.0.6270
    Vaio Setting Utility Series v3.1.01.10230
    Vaio Control Center v2.1.01.10230
    Vaio Event Service v3.2.00.07240
Vaio Launcher 1.0.00.07090 (Last 4 are On restore CD)
    Vaio Power Management
    Roxio
    Win DVD

Installing all these in I believe that order will get you up and running 100%. It took me about 14 hours to get this figured out but I have my laptop running great. You will need to borrow a Vista Home Premium OEM cd or buy 1. There is no easy way to do a "TRUE" clean install with out this. The keycode on the bottom of the laptop will work with an OEM CD version.

I hope this can help some of you that have been pulling your hair out with all the crap installed. This method works and the laptop runs a hell of alot faster.

I don't think this is an easy way to do a clean install. I spent just 2.5 hrs in doing a clean install with all the drivers installed.
