You could, I don't know, write the model number on the topic or at least the first post.

It's a lot heavier and bigger than DV4t and T400.

If you're going to carry it around every day I would not recommend a 6lbs laptop. Try getting a Sony SR from online stores. Sonystyle tends to be expensive.

I agree, please use descriptive titles. I've edited it.

For a laptop, I think it is. I mean, sure, it can be lugged around but I still think it's way too heavy for the use it's really meant for. People have just gotten used to those 6 pounds and up laptops for years now.

I think the prices, weights, performances and battery lives have only just recently come together so to speak. You don't have to either choose a light laptop which is slow, or a fast laptop which is heavy and has a battery life of 20 minutes. So you basically don't have to compromize that much anymore. Case in point: the new SR series Vaios; 2kg, battery life over the 4 hour mark (yeah, still could be a lot more if you use it in classrooms or such and don't have a power outlet), fairly powerful (can even play newer games if you don't crank up the graphics) and the prices range from 1000-1500 €.

Yeah 2.7 kg for a 15" laptop is relatively heavy.

For nice portability I recommend 2kg.
