    Vaio Power management in Win7

    for those running win 7 do you have the 'cpu control' option in vaio power management? i used to have this feature when i was running xp but its no longer listed under win7, only 'cpu fan control'. i am really just trying to enable cpu throttling, but so far changing cpu fan control to adaptive has not helped. do you guys know how to enable cpu throttling? much appreciated.

    I think Windows 7 has it as a built in automatic option, but you can control cpu fan speed only!!! You can download cpuz utility and check cpu speed, just to make sure it's working properly.
    I am using VAIO Power Management 2.5u - 2.5.0.06250

    does it no longer show under system properties? i have to use 3rd party software to check cpu speed now?

    Yes, Windows 7 doesn't show the actual CPU speed, unlike Windows XP. But i's wotking, Windows 7 controls CPU speed, you can download CPUZ utility and run it under different power-saving modes, and you'll see that actual CPU speed is different! So I think it's working fine! :)
