My Sony Vaio is having a odd problem that eventhough it is plugged into AC power, it will some times start running off the battery. However the power Icon will still say it's charging. The AC adapter will charge the battery over time, so I think it is working. Anyone heard of a problem like this? Is it the adapter or the laptop?

It is the laptop. I tried a few sony laptops and all of them have the same problem. The best way to test is to fully charge it up and leave it disconnected from the AC power for about 10 hours and then boot it up on battery, if it lost over 8% which means it has the battery drain problem. I personally contacted sony and was told it is normal. I don't believe what they said but I was not able to do anything.
