I'm thinking of getting a new Vaio S 15". However I do a lot battery-powered use and I had read that the CPU speed is drastically limited when on battery and that this is called throttling (you see how much I know about computers). Is this the case and if so is there any way to get around it?

To be more precise, I'm sure there is a way to do that but is there a way to do that in the standard Windows or VAIO settings without doing stuff like messing around with the BIOS or the thermal settings?

in this notebook the performance doesn't change between battery or plug mode.
