Hi,
I'm having a very annoying issue with my Sony Vaio S Premium - SVS13A190X
After 2 years and the battery holding roughtly 1h30 of charge I looked for a new official one with no luck before settling on one from uBattery (the only one I found on the web)
Upon arrival I plugged the new one in and that were the problems started
- issue is with both the old official one and the new non-official one.
- the battery LED is blinking orange fast (around 3 times a second so 3Hz), see this video I made
- unless I unplug/plug the battery or press the battery reset button at the back, the laptop won't boot.
- upon battery reset (or plug/unplug), I have ~30s of non-blinking time before it starts blinking again.
- On Windows - battery is at 0% ("plugged but not charging") all the time although I was able to run with it for a while and it seems it's charging even though the system says it doesn't.
- CPUID HWMonitor shows values at 0 for voltages in the battery section and nothing for capacities
- On Fedora (Linux) - pretty much the same - show a battery at 0% but charging when plugged.
Step taken :
- disabled TPM in Bios
- disabled ISBMngr.exe as a bootable service (which from what I can tell exists solely to make your like miserable)
- uninstalled Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery drivers (althought they are only reinstalled upon restart with a battery)
- putted back the original battery
- updated to latest bios (R0143C5.0907)
- rebooted countless time with/without battery
- pressed the power button for 1min+ with and without battery
Is anyone in the same situation and what can be done to solve it ?

I would go and obtain an original battery if possible. You should be able to still get parts for these for up to five years from date of manufacturer if you are in EUROPE anyway, this is law that sony must abide by.
Contact a repair company and see if they can obtain original Sony manufactured parts for you and hope that you have not damaged your machine.
Which country are you in? Regardless give Sony a call and tell them to give you a list of their authorized repair centers and contact them, they can still get parts for you..
good luck.
