I recently purchased a new vaio s13 with windows 8 and while playing a couple of music clips I noticed that the volume on the left speaker is always higher than the one on the right. I double check the volume balance and both are at the same level. I have tried with doubly and xloud but both have the same results.

Finally I tried the asus realtek drivers but no use :(

    Anyone have a similar problem?

    bump!

Can someone atleast try to play an audio to check if the left one is slightly louder (about 10%) than the right....

Have you tried plugging in a pair of headphones, to find out if it`s a hardware or a software problem.

I plugged in a pair of headphones and could not tell the difference.

I am just wondering maybe the one on the left is a bit louder due to how its assembled

I suggest getting a replacement if you are still in warranty as the low speaker might be failing, have you tried stressing it by playing loud music though it, or just adjust the balance to compensate, i know it`s not ideal.

The poor speaker quality on Sony notebooks is the main reason i dont buy them, my cell phone sounds better, unless it`s a high end Sony model.
