Hi @ all,
I recently had an SB model of the S13 series and I am now going to buy an A2 model.
I do have a few questions before I place my order, I would be glad if somebody could enlighten me.
1. the model I am thinking about to buy is called "SVS13A2W9ES.G4" and has Win 8 Pro. There is another model called "SVS13A2W9ES.G4_win7" which has Win 7 apperently. Is there a difference in the bios? I mean considering having uefi secure boot crap or not? Or is there only a difference between A1 and A2?
2. The Win 7 version is +100€ compared to Win 8. I haven't tried Win 8 yet, but I surely need some Windows besides Linux (for studies and stuff). I don't believe I would use Win8 anyways, but there is the same notebook with the win7 version, so drivers should be no problem, right? Would you all in all recommend to pay that 100 bucks extra?
3. I don't really get what they mean with 'carbon case' for S13P. At some places I read the whole body is not made out of magnesium, but carbon instead. At some other places they say it is only the cover. What's true?
Thanks in advance for the help![]()
€dit: I ordered the notebook (as nobody could help me with my questions) and received it today.
1. You can disable secureboot crap in uefi
2. never mind, you can set uefi as legacy bios and install Linux
3. The body is made out of magnesium and the cover is carbon stuff.
