I've managed to disassemble my Vaio SA 3 to apply new thermal paste. After that I reassembled it and powered it on to test it. Right off the bat the mouse pad doesn't work, the hdd/charging/wireless lights don't work and the green light by the power port doesn't turn on(this light is always on when the computer is on). Also the caps lock light at the top of the keyboard doesn't work and I haven't bothered trying to switch the graphics from stamina to speed.

Everything else seems to work fine. The keyboard still works and the backlighting on it also works.

I believe there's only two ribbons that I had disconnected from the keyboard plate. I think it might be one of them that I'm not connecting all the way but I was wondering if someone could either confirm this or point me in the right direction.

If you have any thoughts or suggestions as well I'll be glad to hear them!

There are only 2 big cables which connect to palm rest.
Re-seat both cables and their both end to make sure each end is all the way in the connector.

Yeah I figured it must have been one of the cables. I looked closely at the orange one and there was some physical damage on it. I had it resoldered and popped it back in and everything worked like a charm.
