    Hi,

I bought my vaio SA without built in WWAN (100€ extra :lol :) but want to use the free miniPCI-e slot.
I wanted to add either a TV-Tuner or a WWAN module with GPS.
(for tv e.g. Avermedia A301 Mini Pci-e TV FM Tuner Card DVB T Hybird | eBay )

Or is there any card which has tv _and_ wwan integrated?

I already found this disassembly video:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJKF6XXPSGY
Should be similar to the SA series :?

Are the antennas for 3g still on there place when I bought a SA without WWAN? (I guess at the top of the display lid) If not, is there space for the antennas or do I have a different build display lid?

Maybe someone has already done something like this :)

the disassembly is similar. also, this post by jeremyshaw has a couple of pictures of the SA's motherboard. maybe you'll find what you're looking for there.

AFAIK, there is no second mPCIe slot. If you have WiFi, then you do not have a free mPCIe slot (as there should only be one).

I don't know how the normal WWAN card connects (customized mPCIe connector, or USB), but it's a custom daughterboard via a ribbon connector (so my initial comment on the mainboard missing a corner, I think, is wrong).

I opened it by myself, there is a free mini-pcie slot but antennas are also missing:

(Connector is hidden under the cable for the DVD drive)
But I think opening the display to add an antenna is too complicated
