Well I decided to upgrade to windows 7 rc. Everything works including brightness and volume controls, which people were having trouble getting to work. I am experiencing extreme battery drain or usage? I charge it, but battery starts to fall rapidly. I wanted to know if anyone has any fixes for this or what others have been experiencing on windows 7

What RC build are you on? I was using RC1 build 7100 on my Z610 and the battery life was terrible. I have an SR now and am using build 7223 (I think, not on it now) and I get a little over three hours with medium brightness, web browsing and photoshop work. Make sure that you click the battery icon in the system tray to check what power profile you're using. I had mine on high performance which seemed to lock the CPU into full clock speed all the time, which will definitely drain the battery quickly.

You can't really update the build unless you have a subscription to the MSDN (or other MSFT-related groups) that allow you to log in and download later builds of the release candidate. I'm sure some torrent sites have it but I'm not sure which ones. The Gold Master build is a couple weeks out - I would wait for that one since it'll be the RTM (release to manufacturer) build and will probably be the most complete version before the product officially launches later this fall.
