hey Everyone.
i bought the docking station for the SR, ive had lots of docks from HP and Toshiba, and for each one, when the machine was docked, i could power on the laptop ( from a previous shut down ) without having to open the laptop screen lid.
When i try and power on the SR, it does nothing, i have to manuall open the lid, then press the power, then close the lid for the external screen to kick in. At the same time, the external screen doesnt display until im already at the vista loading screen ( ie it doesnt show anything like the bios boot information you normally see when powering on the laptop with the lid open ).
So a few questions for those with the SR and a docking station, are you having similar issues? should i be able to power on the machine without having to open and close the lid ( when docked ), should the LCD power on and display much sooner than it currently does.
I also find that the dock doesnt recognise which is the most efficient network option, it likes to still use wifi even though it has a network cable plugged in directly, most other docks are smarter and know to no try and use the wifi. Perhaps this is a software option in the OS?
Any help or advice on the dock would be great, ive emailed sony support locally and they havent been of any help, suggesting to take it into a store and ask them.. not alot of help.
Thanks
