I'm considering purchasing a Sony VAIO SR-490PBB that I can get from one of our distributers at what seems like a pretty good price ($876.99). It appears to be an older version of the SR-490, as it has a T6670 CPU with 800Mhz Bus. It is new in box with full 1 year warranty.

    Here are the full specs:

    Vaio SR-490PBB
    Core 2 Duo T6670 / 2.2 GHz 800Mhz 2MB L2 Cache
    2 GB RAM DDR2 PC2-6400 800Mhz
    320 GB HDD 5,400 RPM
    DVD±RW (±R DL) / DVD-RAM
    ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570
    WLAN : 802.11 a/b/g/n (draft) Intel 5100
    Bluetooth 2.1 EDR
    Fingerprint Reader
Vista Business / XP Pro downgrade
    13.3" Widescreen TFT 1280 x 800 (WXGA) LED Backlit
    1.3 Megapixel Webcam
    Night Black

Is this a good buy? Is it worth spending more $$$ to get the newer version of the SR490 with 1066Mhz Bus CPU options? Any other changes (good or bad) I should consider between the older and newer version of the SR490?

can u send me a link for this please, if its that cheap with a dedicated GPU im all up for it...plus CPU's can be upgraded afterwards, am i right?

Edit: its not really an older model, its just different model's SR490PPB, those last 3 letters make alot of difference, custom made say SR490(i think) but most of the rest that are pre-built have a difference in things like HDD: 250 VS 320 VS 250(7200RPM) Vs 320(7200RPM)
or CPU(in this matter) and integrated vs dedicated graphics, so its not neccesarily a newer model ,older model's will include SR1-3, SR4 is the newest series in different flavours of models :) oh yes and colour can change one lappy model no. from another. hope this clear a bit up for you :)
