Hello,
I have a 14 inch Vaio E 14 series (bought 7/2012) , sve14a1s1e (sve14a1s1eb) which I bought with the 1366x768 resolution screen. There was an option to get the laptop with a 1600x900 screen, and I'm in big regret with this as I would love the extra space. Is it possible to buy the screen aftermarket? I suppose Sony won't sell it or after-install it, and that would probably be too expensive anyway.
I have found this screen:
New Sony Vaio SVE14AA11M Laptop Screen 14 0" LED Backlit HD | eBay
What would be the odds that it would work? SVE14AA11M has been sold with the exact same specs than my laptop. I3, 500gb, 4gb, dual graphics card Intel/ATI. Could there be cable switching needed? Are there any switches for different screens or is it possible that a different resolution screen is somehow hardcoded and won't allow change?
Here is also the sticker from my screen:

I think it is a 40pin screen as I counted the connector pins.
Thanks in advance for any responses.

If Sony E14 has 1600x900 model, it should work if you replace the LCD.
However, you may have to replace LCD cable too, and then set dip sw to make it works with new LCD. -
That's the thing, if I could find out if the different Sony E14 model screens are interchangeable. Or at least find the right screen for this one. There are many SVE14xxxxx models out there. Can't find the replacement 1600x900 LCD straight forward for this model, sadly.
If I was to get for example the SVE14AA11M screen, should I also find a SVE14AA11M LCD cable?
Is there any documentation or forum posts about this dip switch? I've had this laptop open but didn't pay attention to it's looks at the time.
