The other day a rented a Blu-Ray movie from REDBOX and when trying to play the movie I got a message saying to UPDATE the software..Thus could not watch..Is there any update available for the PMD or it is because of REDBOX Blu-rays..????

First off, which software are you using? There are no official firmware-updates for the PMD nor is it needed for BD-playback functionality. If you're using a stock system, Win7 and PDVD9 then you might run into the same problem I did with the supplied PDVD9 not playing BD-movies. Either you update that software (Cyberlink PowerDVD 9) from the software's in-built update function or from Cyberlink's website (cyberlink.com). Alternatively you can just update (ca$h or bittorrent) to PDVD13 which is pretty awesome as it now supports showing subtitle-files (.srt etc. etc.) and image quality and audio quality is as good as ever. Also, loading the v13 is slightly faster than previous versions, as the built-in delay (animations) when starting the program has been removed... :)

    Hope this helps.
