Has anyone tried clean installing XP Pro on a Vaio SZ 270 P/C. I am following the driver install order given in the Sony support site for clean installs. I also made a CD with all the drivers obtained using the Download Taxi and some drivers from Intel and Marvel. Following the install of the 945 Chipset (tried Intel and Sony provided ones), Sony Notebook Control driver, Sony Shared Libraries and the 945 express graphics adapter driver, I come to installing the Sigmatel Audio driver. Once I install this and reboot, my system crawls to unusable state with the "system" process taking up 80 - 90 % CPU. Has anybody seen this issue and fixed or worked around it?

    Thanks
