    Hi,

I am new to this board and a (former) happy owner of a Vaio SZ.

Sadly I have tried to update the latest bios for my SZ650 which I had adapted by Phoenix Bios Editor before. I did this afew times before but it seems like an invalid file was created and even flashed. At least the green update screen after reboot doesn't appear and now it fails to boot... :( Seems like update failed (somehow).

Have already disconected battery under the touchpad after opening. It didn't help. Any ideas?

Do you know where the bios chip is located on the board so that I could replace it?

Thx in advance for your help!

Why were you even modifying the BIOS to start with?

    Hi Greg,

it was to enable VT and AHCI. Finally the mod was not the problem but winphlash or Phoenix Bios Editor. I can say this as I flashed a bios version that worked before.

I'm currently reinstalling my SZ so I was testinng a bit with non critical settings.
No low level hack or anything. Just changed the settings available by hidden menu.

Justz wondering - I haven't got a clue if that helps, but it might be an idea.

    Could you boot on LAN??
Somehow get a connection to your bios from "outside" with a second computer?
Or install a Sony Bios upadate from a second computer onto yours??

Not if the machine won't boot at all, which is what the OP said.
