Hey guys...I've just graduated high school and I'm in the market for a new laptop. The Vaio SZ P/C series looks really sleek, powerful, and portable to me and I was very interested in picking up one until I noticed a few things. I've heard that the advertised battery life is high-balled by sony and I was curious how much battery life I can get out of the standard battery, as well as the extended battery (plus how much mroe weight the extended battery would add onto the 3.7 lbs.). Also, I was listening to the CNET video review of the Sony Vaio SZ Series and they said it has gigabit ethernet (I believe they tested the SZ160P/C model) , however, after browsing Son'y website today, all their newer SZ models seem to only have 10/100. Is there something I'm missing or do I have to stick with an older version to get the gigabit ethernet? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

also lots of previous talk on this exact subject

if it matters at all, the dicking station has a gigibit connection

If you're off to College after High School you better polish up on those research skills ... and your attitude. I always find the funniest clowns are the ones that don't even know they're clowns.

    Good luck.

what is with all the flaming? I don't think any of the SZ's have gigabit built-in although I could be wrong. I'm pretty sure mine doesn't have gigabit. How much battery life you get depends on a lot of different factors. The extended battery should weigh about .5lbs more than the standard battery.

I've been lurking around here for ages and I've found the advice that people have taken the time to give invaluable. I'm typing away on my sz1xp right now because of it. It just gets my goat when people don't appreciate it.

    All the best,

    Digga.
