Depends on the iGo. The iGo Juice 70 (model PS0055-11) is not heavier. It's about as long but not as wide. That's what I have. The one that is more watts and such is bigger and heavier. The Juice 70 is 7.5oz to the Kensington's 6 - an ounce and a half isn't a big deal. I didn't like the fact that the Kensington was very thin but bigger - it's more like a big square. Plus, my Juice already does what it does - I didn't see the value for losing 1.5oz.

I only have the 70W, and I see no difference between the 70W iGo Juice 70 and the standard Sony brick. Tad smaller and lighter, but more versatile.

The 120W I have no experience with, and it is quite a bit bigger than the Juice 70, the Kensington, or the Sony brick. I'd stay away from that.

Although iGo pissed me off today. Called them for info on a tip and they said they don't give that info out. On the other hand, Kensington doesn't have a tip for a couple of my devices where iGo does.

EDIT: iGO *does* list the SZ in their compatibility with the S12 tip. I may switch at some point anyway because the Sony power supply is 90W. Right now I'm actually using the Sony brick since I'm not on the road.

Got the 120W AC/DC Kensington today.

So far, quite happy with. It's VERY thin and light.

Charges up my SZ no problem.

Lots of tips, so I can charge my bluetooth earphones and cellphone (USB) and my laptop, and anything else I need to bring along with me on my next business trip.

    people in this thread.

Of course, its a 70W - You're right not to test this.

Does anyone know if the 120W version is much smaller than the Sony brick. The Kensington website it looks like its onlyhalf an inch or so thinner with the other dimensions remaining almost the same.

neenee, i made a typo. The kensington one I wanted to know about was the 90W version, not the 70W version.

    It is *much* lighter.

Yes, it has the same footprint, but it is literally more than half the thickness...

And lets not forget, with right tips it replaces all of your chargers, and your car / airplane adapter.

Have you tried to use your fingerprint reader while plugged into the Kensington adapter? This was the single biggest reason I had to return my Kensington brick - when plugged in, my fingerprint reader would simply not register. When I'm plugged into the Sony OEM brick, it works perfectly...

I was going to try the Targus, but then I saw how HUGE it is... I just wound up getting another Sony OEM brick for $30 from TechOnWeb.

I recently received the Kensington 120W adapter and
found it's a little bit wider than the original sony one. (althought it's thinner)
It's true that it's kinda lighter than the sony one
With that long cable, as a whole it didn't reuce the burden at all.

the fingerprint reader works well with the Kensington adapter.
    I didn't see any problem

My conclusion is it 's a little bit(tinytinytiny) better than the original one.
(also thinking the risk of using adapter with low output than needed)
but I hope something thinner and lighter than this kensington one come out soon. I hope I can use this kensington one for other purposes as well cuz it's versatile.. :(

Well what's great about the Kensington is the exchangable tips.

You can take chargers for all of your accessories if you want to keep your pack small.

For example, all I have to do is carry a few tips to charge my smartphone, laptop, bluetooth earphones, digicam, etc...

Otherwise I'd have 4 chargers... instead I'd have 4 little tips.

PLUS I can charge them all on the plane, in the car or at a regular power source.

2 prong for the Kensington 120W AC/DC power adapter, at least in North America.

Just (finally) got my new sz160 and I'm loving it. I just spoke with Sony. They said the adaptor from my old machine (model number of the adaptor is PCGA-AC5Z) should work but they cannot *officially* recommend using it. Has anyone out there tried doing this? Do you think I'm in danger of blowing up my machine if I try - feeling very protective but I do hate the huge power brick and my old machine came with such a lovely little one. Thanks.

The targus probably isn't bigger, but I think it is also only 90W, which should power the SZ fine. You probably wouldn't want to power multiple devices at the same time though.
