    Vaio SZ touchpad replacement

    I have a non working touchpad for my SZ-483N/C. Does anyone know a place that I can get a replacement?

    Unfortunately I am out of the warranty period and I've replaced my hdd for this machine and know that it'll be easy for me to the change.

    Sony service sales in the US lists two parts for the SZ450N/C i ran a search and this looks like the model you own.

    Sony list this part which is pretty available 179740191 and they list this part which is not so available 179740192.

    A seller is also selling a trackpad on ebay that should be fine for your laptop. Maybe you could ask them to ship it to you.

    I can have it to my address in the US as long as it is present.

    So i I understand it clearly I need to search the numbers that you've provided
    right?

    Do you think I can figure it out by removing the cover?

    There is also a black one used in the later series (by black one I mean the color of the touchpad is black) do you think that one fits as well?

    I figure that your model is a carbon fibre model with a silver trackpad. I seriously doubt that Sony carbon SZ4 models will have used different parts so the parts listed above should fit your laptop.

    You can also search on the US website for different model numbers.

    I am not sure if an SZ6/7 trackpad would work with a SZ5< laptop. I have read though the trackpads in the SZ series line improved in the later series so i doubt they are exactly the same.
