    Hi

I got a Vaio SZ160P last Friday, very nice machine.
However my space bar doesn't always register after a key press. I have to press exactly in the middle for it to register.

If I press on the far left/right efge it won't register.
Has anybody experienced a similar problem? I wonder if it's a common problem.

I read earlier today about somebody exchanging his 160 for a 120 due to the same issue as I'm describing.

The SZ160 bottom case scratches quite easily too :(

there has been some others threads in here on that it seams that they all do that. I personaly do not hit the space bar on the end when I type so its not a big deal for me but my 110 does sometimes have registering issue if i do try to hit it on the edge. But like i said i dont hit the edge when I type so i guess its only a problem if you do.

maybe, I tested it out at the Sony Metreon store here in SF and the keyboard do feel a tad cheap compared to the previous S series.

i love the keyboard on minel. it works just fine. but i did read about the space bar thing so i tried it and i would say repetedly hiting it on the edge it misses 1 out of 3 or 4 times its really not that bad most people hit the space bar in the middle anyways.

Actually, it's not only on the left or right edge.
you need to press the key in the middle or at the top.

If you hit the bottom you're likely going to miss keys....
otherwise I like the keyboard, too a while to get used to it.

    Question:
if you press the right side of the bottom case, toward the top, does it slightly move on your laptop?
mine has a slight gap, and if you press the right edge, you see the right hinge slightly moving ..
I'm a bit paranoid, I dropped it while in its soft case and I can't believe I'm so lucky that there's no damage at all...
