    Hello everyone,

I just bought an sz260 the other day and my bluetooth isn't working. The bt LED lights up when I start up the machine, but the bt never functions. When i try to activate it, it says, "bluetooth not ready". so then i wait for hours and hours, and then it says the same thing. I can't figure out this dam thing, and to think that an +$2000 laptop comes with a manual about 7 pages long. anyone have any suggestions? i've only logged about 30 hours on it, so i'm assuming nothing can be too wrong. any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    AJ

You'll need to be more specific with details. Have you turned the wirless switch to the on position (I assume yes since teh BT light turns on at startup)? What is the software status of your system (factory default, semi restore, clean install)? Have any drivers been changed? Do you use the wireless switching utility? What are you trying to connect via bluetooth? Does that other device work with other bluetooth enabled devices? Have you tried connecting other bluetooth devices?

Answers to these questions will be of great help to those trying to assist you.

    Weshy.

    hey,

thank you for your thorough reply. i'm just a bit of a newbie with all of this tech stuff, and i just didn't enable it through taskbar>LAN>enable bluetooth. it'd be cool if there was some kind of tutorial for that stuff. thanks for your help and i'm looking forward to asking more silly questions. :D

Are you using a verizon wireless card? I had problems with this and had to turn bluetooth off toget that to work.

What are you trying to use the bluetooth with?

i'm trying to use bluetooth with my smartphone and a mouse. i got my bluetooth to work and no, i'm not using a verizon wireless card. it's weird, why does the SZ260 have a built in cingular wireless card but the SZ260P does not? the 260P is around 200 bucks more too...
