Since the TX is the newer model, I was just wondering if the older T series have any advantages over their newer cousins. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the T's get slighter better battery life? I've also heard some fears that because the TX's screen is so thin, that it can easily break without a protective case, is that right? I've also heard that the TX's give off a lot of heat and fan noise at times?

The only complaint I have heard so far is the fan noise on the TX. As far as the screen is concerned, the TX is very sturdy. I was looking at one in the Sony Store and I was impressed.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the T. If you can find a great price, go for it.

Yeah, I saw a great deal for a Vaio T on Ebay. The T370P/L is the best model of the T series and its retail price is at least $1900 for sure and I'm seeing a buy it now price for one for only $1556 with an additional battery and carrying case. If only I had the cash, I'd be so all over it. Maybe I should sell one of my kidneys, I only need one right?

i have the tx650...it has more battery life than the t...i'm getting 5.5hrs+ on the std battery alone...no fan noise/heat issues at all...all you do is set the power management settings...a marvel of a machine...in my opinion..add to it..i got a great financing deal..no interest till 2008...makes it all sweeter...

Ive gotten my T350 to over 9 hours, but with everything turned down. I suspect the TX could get into the 11s or more with everything turned down. The added screen area on the TX is nice, one of the things you are forced to get used to on the T. I personlly like the style of the TX keyboard, though havent used it extensively. The T keyboard is quite easy to get used to, I think its about 75% of the normal keyboard. If you have money to burn, like the latest stuff or find a good deal, then get the TX. Otherwise the T is more than adequete

From what I heard, the TX can be fitted with a longer, extended battery which gets up to 14 hours of battery life, saweet! :D

I bet it can but then that probably adds to the price significantly. And by the law of diminishing returns, you will likely not need all 14 hours. Still nice to know you can do that though

Any other TX users have anything to say about their TXs?

i love the look of the tx and it has great battery power for a featherweight, but with an extended battery pack the weight kinda defeats the purpose of having a lightweight laptop.
