For those wanting to update Windows 7 to Windows 10, there is a guide for a clean install:

    http://mccondach.com/blog/sony-vaio-vgn-tt11ln-upgrade-windows-10-x64-pro-guide/

I made a normal update, and while it took five days, yes 5 days, it successfully upgraded.
If you want to make a clean install from this point without using an external media, you can do it, using these steps (reset my pc): http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/windows-10-recovery-options#, but I can't tell if it will take that long as I hadn't tested it.
