A month ago i purchased Tz17gn/b when i was on holiday in hong kong, I found out that i had some problem with vista with only a gig ram. My problem is that in UK there arn't places that offer my notebook, is there any places or site that i can purchase 2gb ram?

Hey Blackpanda your Vaio TZ does not use any kind of proprietary memory or no need to go buying ram from Sony et al at crazy prices. Try something like this
http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.aspx?sku=325699
Its only one of many sites so please shop around for the best prices. Just take note of the specs of this ram to use in your search. -
i thought 170 had 2gb of ram?

We're not talking about the American TZ170N/B here, but the Tz17gn/b, which is not an American model that has 1gb of ram.

I tried searching the site but alot uk don't have this model, i don't really know the spec for the ram since i did went to crucial system scan check and found nothing. I have found one also
http://www.orcalogic.co.uk/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=35776&ft=m&st=3
which would be better? the crucial or transcend? -

The spec and link I posted earlier was obtained by going to www.komplett.co.uk and using the configurator to select the correct ram for the TZ. As far as I am aware all TZ's use the same ram so even though yours is from HK it should still be the ram you need.
Personally I would go with Crucial ram or Corsair. I don't have anything against Transcend but id love to here other peoples opinions if they had any good/horror stories. -
Don't you love it when you do all the homework for these noobs and they still argue with you over it being right spec?

Ha Ha, classic. But we were all noobs once in our youth. OMG I cant remember my youth.....I really cant, holy s**t. Id call a doctor but I cant remember the number and my brittle fingers snap when I dial the phone. Where did I put my phone.
Oh to be a noob.

Haha, you're suffering from a modern malady, called "mild cognitive impairment," caused by too much multitasking. We're losing memory at a faster rate due to a number of lifestyle factors, so nothing to worry about. Just invest in companies that are bringing memory drugs to market!
