Hello. I was reading a review of the Sony Vaio TZ's Instant Mode here: http://www.pocketables.net/2007/11/review-sony-vai.html
According to the review, the Instant Mode consumes more battery power than just normally booting up the system. Is this true? If so, what are the uses for Instant Mode?

EDIT: I only skimed through that review, so correct me if I'm wrong, but his measurement of how long the battery lasted was from when he started watching the movie. Perhaps (I have no way of measuring this) if the laptop was off to begin with, the battery would last longer if the instant mode was used than if he would fully boot to Vista. -
I asked this same question before buying my TZ but nobody seemed to have any concrete info. I actually read about instant mode resulting in less battery time on several official Sony spec sheets, rather than a third-party review.
I have not had a chance to test this on my laptop as I've only used instant mode once or twice but I guess instant mode doesn't do any power management like Windows does? Can't imagine what other differences could be.

I'm still unsure about the Vaio TZ Instant Mode benefits. Does anyone care to give any info about it?
