Hi, I need some help with the fingerprint sensor on my Vaio TZ150. I really like using the sensor for scrolling up and down, but switching from fingerprint scanning mode to scrolling mode confuses me. It seems that whenever I press my hot key to switch to scrolling mode, which is Ctrl+S, the sensor does NOT switch to scrolling mode. Instead, I find that pressing Ctrl+S TWICE will switch it to scrolling mode.

And to make it even more confusing, sometimes it DOES switch to scrolling mode when I only press Ctrl+S ONCE. What is going on here?

Finally, ANOTHER element that brings in more confusion is the fact that the fingerprint scanner automatically switches back to fingerprint sensor mode in certain situations. For example, when the TZ is put to sleep and re-awoken, the fingerprint scanner starts off automatically in fingerprint sensor mode.

Is there a way to completely disable the fingerprint sensor mode and keep it in scrolling mode? Actually, I use the fingerprint scanner to log into my account. Is there a way to keep it in scrolling mode only once I've logged in?

whenever there is a password prompt (like you say when it goes to sleep and wakes) it will go to fingerprint mode. unfortunately that's as much as i can help, i'm not familiar with the scroll function....can you not use the left area of your mousepad?
