    Vaio TZ11MN CD/DVD drive power off software problem

    Hi All,

    Since few days I am happy owner of new Vaio TZ 11MN (CPU 1,06, 100GB HDD, 2 GB RAM). I am using Vista. In systray have icon for small software to turning on and off CD/DVD drive. Every time I use this program it display error "Unhandled exeption error". Theree buttons: details, Continue and Close. If I press Details it show mored details about error. It JIT debbuger error, not correct input string - I sorry for my bad translation. If I press close small program is closed and can't switch on/off CD drive. When press Continue it sometimes goes good but typicaly program is closing.
    I was installed all Vaio update, and Vista update, without result.

    Any idea?

    I have the same problem. i think we need an updated dvd drive power manager program. unfortunately i could not find one. not even the version that comes with factory installed vaio tz. i have a dynamism vista business image on my machine by the way.. t
    he dvd power manager version is half japanese on my system, if i go to the settigs, everything is in japanese. every other driver on my system is full english and work flawlessly. strange...

    I was trying find update to but not found. My DVD drive power software is half japanes to. I made clean install of Vista but problem stil exist. Before, when I have had installed system from recovery partition it was the same. So where to find correct DVD driver software?

    Do you have the Sonic Stage program installed on your TZ? Uninstalling Sonic Stage will cause problems with the CD/DVD drive.

    No I don't have it, because after installing clean Vista I have install only driver and software available on Sony support page. I not found Sonic Stage there. Where I can download it? Similar story is with InterVideo WinDVD. On Sony page only update is available, but I have not got full wersion. Do not know where it download.

    I download Sonic Stage, installed it and nothing changed. Error still is displaying when turning on or off DVD drive.

    I found temporrary solution. Open Desktop Allert Settings and unchecked first checkbox. After that when switching power for DVD drive on and off NET framework error is not displaying. Is anybody know what mean this first checkbox, and maby whole dialog :)
