Hi,
Just got my Vaio TZ90 from pricejapan yesterday.
The first thing i did was deleting all the japanese stuff and installed ubuntu on it.
Have anyone had any success getting the wireless network working?
03:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 4965 AG or AGN Network Connection (rev 61)
I have tried iwlwifi (0.0.41) and the ucode-4.44.17. The driver compiles but when i try to change the essid the laptop deadlocks. I have to remove the battery to reboot it.
I have also tried ndiswrapper with the driver NETw4x32.INF (version 04/30/2007,11.1.1.11) - the card seems to work but i cannot change the essid.
Both drivers lets me scan for networks with iwlist. I also find the networks but i cannot connect to any.

I'm interested in installing Ubuntu on the TZ as well once I get mine. How is it working compatibility-wise? Does suspend/memory card/function keys work? And will you still be able to use the instant on media features?
As for the wifi, did you try using the latest driver from http://intellinuxwireless.org/ ? It seems like it was just updated a couple of days ago (0.0.42). -
- still no hope, just updated from 0.0.41 to 0.0.42 but no luck. Had to pick out my battery.
Anyway - sound works, video works, cdrom works, hard drive works, wired ethernet works - touchpad works - suspend works - hibernate works - usb works - bluetooth works. It is only the wireless network that is bugging me now, but i have not tried the memory card readers or the camera yet. -
Does your caps lock light blink when your system locks up by any chance?
This thread has some info if you haven't already seen it. -
Cheers!
Downgrading mac80211 to 8.0.2 did the trick!
Works like a charm now!
