    Hi everyone I am new to the forums and was wondering if someone could advise me on the following queries I have.

    I have just bought a Vaio TZ91HS - Dual 1.2ghz, 2gb Ram, 200gb H/D, it has Vista Ultimate already installed on it but I would rather use XP PRo as this is less resouce intensive. I have seen the guide for downgrading the TZ3 series but does anyone know if I can downgrade my TZ91HS?

    If so, where can I find the drivers for the componenets for my model?

    THanks
    Simon

    I have looked at the sony US and Uk websites and neither have the drivers for my model, this is the problem I am facing.

    I think it's originally a model sold in Japan and thus the drivers are there, but as I don't read japenese I don't know where to start :(

    The TZ91 would be the 2nd rev of the Japanese TZ. Look for the US TZ2xx drivers on the US SonyStyle site. It's not that hard.

    Errrrr, it is that hard if;
    a) you don't know it is the 2nd revision and is the same model as the US VGN-TZ2xx
    b) that models are identical across the pond just with different numbers etc

    I asked for help/advice not sarcasm. ;)

    Anyways I forgot to ask;

    Which US TZ2xx drivers should I use for my TZ91HS?
    (I have a selection of about 20 US models to choose from)

    I've pretty much owned only Sony Japanese laptops. For most of the series of laptops over there (including the Z, SZ, TT, TZ, etc.), the first one is the 90. The next, 91; and so on. So a "second gen" TZ would be a TZ91.

    All of them are basically the same guts; one may, say, have a different WWAN but the basic guts (wireless, bluetooth, etc.) are the same.

    Do a search here for threads on the TZ and how to rebuild it. Chances are there is one like there is for pretty much every Sony laptop.

    Hey thanks fenderp. I just needed confirmation seeing as it is the 1st TZ i have owned :)

    So I guess I just need to find a model nearly identical to mine form the US Sony Style website, and get the drivers for it?
