    Hi,

I have had some errors caused by my graphical card, so I would like to update the driver of the card (GeForce 8400 GT).
The problem is that I can't find the driver update I need.

When I visit the nvidia website, they say that I have to download the driver from the Sony website. But when I search the update section, I can't find any updates for the driver. My current version is 156.65 (found this using the 'Automatically find drivers for my NVIDIA products.' on the nvidia website.

    Could somebody please help me?
    Thx in advance!

    Pieter

    I'm assuming you're running on vista 32-bit?

This is the driver that i am currently using for my 8400m GT.

Download the driver and the modded inf.
Extract the driver onto your desktop,
drop the modded inf into the forder
and overwrite the old one when prompted.
When that's done run the install application which should update your driver to 175.80.

Hope that fixes the errors :)

Thanks for the info, I downloaded the driver that you advised me, and the installation was completed succesfully.

The problems occured mostly when playing Need for speed Prostreet. Time will point out if there are less troubles. Maybe it's just because my processor is too slow, but now I know it can't be the 8400 gt.

    Other tips are still welcome.

EDIT: I just tried to open the game again, but now it crashes immediately... Does anyone know a better driver for playing games?

Wow that one never failed for me

    Try updating the game.
Other drivers to try are 169.04 or alternatively 169.09.

What are the rest of your specs?

    The specs are:

    Sony Vaio VGN-NR21S
    T5450 @ 1.66 Ghz - 2Gb RAM
    nVidia GeForce 8400m GT
    Vista 32 bit

EDIT: Downgraded back to the oldest version for now... Tried 175.80 and 167.43 but both had a negative influence.
