I have just upgraded one of these from 512Mb to 1.5Gb by adding a 1Gb Crucial chip. I used the crucial download to determine the chip to use.
Trouble is the laptop is now unstable sometimes working for hours sometimes just a few minutes before a flick and it resets.

I notice that the Sony official max memory figure is 1Gb so I wondered if perhaps I need a BIOS upgrade. Installed BIOS is labelled in BIOS configuration screen as R0031G / RK031G9

Does anyone know if there is a later BIOS and more importantly a link where I can download it from.

    Many Thanks

    Dave Slater
