    Hello,
Just inherited a fairly old Vaio VGN-FS415M from an emigrating relative and I can't seem to get any sound out of it.
It reports to have as a sound device, a digital audio S/PDIF device made by Microsoft, which in turn reports to be working correctly and shows audio going out on the volume controls but no sound comes out.

I'm a bit confused as the laptop doesn't seem to have an S/PDIF output..?

    Any help much appreciated

    Thanks in advance
