This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Vaio VGN-FW290 Blu-Ray Drive Upgrade

    I currently have a Vaio VGN-FW290 with a Mata UJ-230AS blu-ray burner (tray). It no longer recognizes DVDs and CDs, though it does see BD. I would like to drop in a new BD Burner rather than try and get the old drive repaired. Will a Panasonic UJ-235A (solt drive) fit in the Vaio?
