When I push the button the power light comes on, as does the wireless light (if the wireless switch is in the on position) and the battery light (if the battery is inserted). I can also hear the hard disk and bluray drive power up. However, nothing appears on the screen (nothing at all; even the backlight doesn't power up) and the system doesn't load (HD doesn't make seeking noises).

I tried removing one RAM module, then the other, with no result.

I have no problems with taking the thing to bits if I need to. I'm also handy with a soldering iron, but not enough to replace large chips and such; simpler components I can handle.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.
