    The fan on this laptop drives my batty. Can anyone suggest somthing to cure it or is it just an unfortunate "feature" with these laptops that i will have to get used to :mad:

    what are you doing on it that makes the fan twirl.

    Yes the fan tends to be a bit noisy on this laptop, are you sure you have the latest BIOS update installed? This supposedly reduces fan noise. What CPu temperatures are you getting?

    Which is the latest? I have the BIOS version R0091N0, dated 07.10.2006 installed.

    I'm not sure just check on the Vaio Web Support Homepage, it'll list the available BIOS updates for your computer. 07.10.2006 sounds very recent though so I doubt there will be anything new.
