i just realized that my Vaio VGN-SZ280P's battery doesn't work anymore

i only had the laptop for about a year and it doesn't recognize the battery anymore.
i didn't do anything to the laptop....
some forums say that it might be just a software issue..
    how can i fix this???
and i know that sony's customer service sucks...so any ideas?

i have the same problem with my sz-230p, its 1 month over warrenty. I called sony they said to take it to a dealer and try another battery to verify. i know its the battery shouldnt be dead after 1 year. they also said try restoring the BIOS values, i did that and still no luck. looks like im gunna need to buy a generic batter, maybe i will have better luck
