    Hi to all,

this question is addressed to those who own TX machines with Intel 753 ULV CPU (1,2 GHz) bought in 2005-2006: could anyone tell which is the normal CPU temperature range in office use (I mean not extensive net surfing, emailing, MS Office) under standard conditions indoors (21 C) for these machines. TX thread is closed here, that is why I use a chance to ask the owners. My lappie shows CPU range of 59-62 C with no load on as a standard. Is it normal?

    Thanks!

No that is not normal. But that's a really old computer so you probably just need to clean the dust out. Normal temperature should be around 40-45c

Thanks! Yes, I wonder if I need to replace thermal paste inside it. Still have some doubts as the inner construction of this machine is densly packed and ultracompact.

Try blowing some compressed air through it before you open it. If you break something trying to repaste, the resale value will go down (If it's still worth anything at all). If you're really happy with the laptop I wouldn't let the temps bother you. I mean when you start getting into the 70's just web surfing then you have a problem.
