Hi, i searched around, but couldnt find any useful info or threads about the vgn-z41 series laptops supporting more than 8GB ram in total. I would like to put in 16gb (2x8gb) since its pretty cheap now and was looking at this GeIL SO-DIMM Kit 16GB PC3-12800S CL10-10-10-28 (DDR3-1600) (GS316GB1600C10DC) Preisvergleich | Geizhals EU . I already have (bought it like this) a 2gb and a 4gb stick in it.
Does anyone have experience/know if it works?
Thanks

SDRAM, DDR2 and DDR RAM memory upgrades from Crucial.com
It won't hurt if you install more ram ...it just won't run faster than your system and OS allow to ... like.. if you use wds 32Bit ... your slot limit is 3.5GB max .. -
Ahm, well im running win7 pro 64 bit and 64 bit linux on it, and i would benefit greatly from more ram (especially on linux), but my concern is if the motherboard/chipset of the vgn-z41 can support 8gb modules for a total of 16gb, or will they just not be recognised. thanks for you help. Btw it uses ddr3 ram, not ddr2
