    It won't hurt if you install more ram ...it just won't run faster than your system and OS allow to ... like.. if you use wds 32Bit ... your slot limit is 3.5GB max ..

    Ahm, well im running win7 pro 64 bit and 64 bit linux on it, and i would benefit greatly from more ram (especially on linux), but my concern is if the motherboard/chipset of the vgn-z41 can support 8gb modules for a total of 16gb, or will they just not be recognised. thanks for you help. Btw it uses ddr3 ram, not ddr2
