I have a Vaio VGN-Z46GD, that will not sleep/hibernate and now will not shut down either.
When I shut the lid, it sleeps for about 15 seconds and then wakes again.
Also, the same when I click the sleep button.
    Any ideas anyone?

Backup your stuff, and use the recovery CD(s) to re-install original software and settings. If that doesn't fix the problem, send it in for a repair.

Hi and thanks for the replies.
I'm using Avast for the anti virus and haven't really added on any software except for Office.

Are you sure you turned off all "wake on" functions for your hardware devices (especially lan and mouse and USB).
Take a look at the properties in the device manager

Hi Jorlin. Thanks for that. I had turned off all the USB wake on settings. I will try for all the other devices too.
