Hello,
I would like to know about the possibility of using the Inter Core 2 Duo T9900 processor in this laptop. Any pros or const of this solution ?
Thanks for reply.

It has been discussed before, and a few searches would have told you.
But, anyhow, only the Japanese VGN-Z has a 35 W TDP cooling system, and can handle the more power hungry CPUs. The European and American VGN-Z only has a 25 W TDP cooling system, with thinner heat pipes.
The fastest CPU you can safely use is the P9600 (and the P9700, although according to reports here, it may start to throttle under high sustained load).
And no, Sony Europe won't sell you the 35W cooling assembly used in the Japanese T9xx models. -
yeap, i've read about that, but i'm saw a few times vaio z890 with t9900
anyway thanks -
The US VGN-Z890 comes with the T9900. As did quite a few Japanese VGN-Zs across all of their 4 generations (it was an optional part).
As arth1 says, the P series CPUs consume and require the 25W heat sink / dissipation unit. The T series implements a bigger, 35W unit, which I'm aware has dual pipes and a larger fan for better heat release.
The mod from the P to T9900 can be done. But it's hard. OEM parts sellers require you to give them the SERVICE TAG code (under your laptop), which they supply to Sony parts who then check it against a database, Needless to say, if your machine doesn't come with the T9900 by default and Sony finds out via their database, they won't give you the part.
You should note that the T9900 with the 35W cooling system throttles quite a lot. From what I read (and even seen), the CPU only runs at full clock speeds of 3.06GHz for about 10 seconds at a time before getting down to about 2.6GHz (or 2.4GHz, can't remember now). And it does that once every 3-5 minutes to regulate temperature.
I'd suggest you stick with the P9700 (or P9600 if you want to stay safe). As for the mods; you'll have to do them yourself as it's unlikely Sony will do them for you, even if you are willing to pay them and even if you have the parts on you in person.
