Hi Everyone! I'm new to this forum and I realllllly would appreciate any advice you all could offer :)

My computer hasn't been able to turn on for the last 4 months...it used to power up and then shut right down after getting to the desktop. Then today I randomly tried and it turned on but it says "battery not detected" on the bottom right hand corner. Does this mean there is an issue with the AC adapter or the actual battery? Any ideas? Thanks ahead of time :)
