I have inherited the above laptop. It came with the factory power adapter and power cord (for connecting adapter to power source). The supplied power cord is a 3 foot non-polarized 2 prong rated at 18AWG, 125V, 7A and 875W branded as Newtech-LTK (Hirakawa VMO296).

I want to replace it with a 6 foot cord. I cannot find this brand with the above ratings in a 6 foot length in any online searches. I have found several alternatives in the 6 foot length that are rated at 18AWG, 125V, 10A and 1250W.

Would like to know if there are any dangers in using a higher rated amp and wattage then the original cord.

    TIA for any responses.
